A fair comparison
SentiTrack vs generic sentiment tools

A workplace sentiment platform, not a raw scoring API

General-purpose sentiment APIs return a number for one piece of text. SentiTrack is the layer above that: it scores workplace communication the way a manager reads tone, rolls it up across your whole org, and never stores a single message body.

A generic sentiment tool returns positive/negative/neutral for a single text you send it. SentiTrack is a complete workplace platform: it ingests email, voice and chat, scores tone 1–10 the way a manager reads it, aggregates by department and attribute, never stores message bodies, and can run fully inside your own network.

The challenge

A raw sentiment score is not an answer

General-purpose sentiment APIs give you a label for one string of text — and leave the hard 90% to you: capturing email, calls and chat, stripping quotes and signatures, storing the results safely, aggregating by team, and visualizing trends. Most also retain the text you send, creating exactly the privacy and GDPR liability you wanted to avoid. You end up building a product around an API instead of getting answers.

SentiTrack

The whole pipeline, tuned for the workplace

SentiTrack replaces the build-it-yourself stack with a finished platform. It connects to the channels your team already uses, scores each message 1–10 the way a manager would read it, discards the body, and rolls every score up into living graphs, timelines and reports — across departments, locations and any attribute you track.

  • Multi-channel ingest built in: email BCC, voice/SMS/WhatsApp transcripts, Slack/Teams/Zoom
  • Manager-grade scoring — a curt "Approved." is not flagged as negative
  • Bodies scored in memory then discarded; only score + metadata + subject hash kept
  • Org-wide roll-ups, Net Graph, Time Graph, topics, alerts and PDF reports out of the box
How it works

What you'd build vs what you get

01
Ingest every channel

A raw API expects you to deliver clean text. SentiTrack ships the capture layer: a silent email BCC rule, telephony and chat connectors via Twilio, RingCentral, 3CX, Slack, Teams and Zoom, plus a developer /ingest API for any text.

02
Score it like a manager

Generic models read literal positivity. SentiTrack scores 1–10 on a workplace scale — hostile, negative, neutral, positive, warm — across 7 languages natively, using the bundled SentiAI engine or your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini key.

03
Aggregate and act

Instead of a pile of per-message labels, you get org-level answers: a sentiment-coloured Net Graph, smoothed Time Graphs split by attribute, topic clusters, alerts and scheduled reports — with bodies never stored and an option to self-host.

Where SentiTrack pulls ahead
No body storage by design

Generic APIs typically retain the text you submit. SentiTrack scores the body in memory, then discards it — only the 1–10 score, participants, timestamp, direction and a subject hash are stored.

Workplace-tuned scoring

It reads tone the way a manager does, so a terse but professional "Approved." stays neutral instead of being misread as hostile by a literal off-the-shelf model.

Org aggregation, not per-message labels

Scores roll up by department, location, role or any custom attribute — using path-style hierarchies and group-by roll-ups a bare API never provides.

The Net Graph and Time Graph

See every relationship as a sentiment-coloured edge and every trend as a smoothed time series with calendar overlays — analytics no scoring endpoint includes.

Multi-channel, one score

Email, voice, SMS, WhatsApp and team chat all resolve to the same 1–10 scale, so you compare tone across channels instead of stitching tools together.

Self-host with SentiTrack Edge

Run a Docker appliance inside your own network that scores locally at ~93.5% accuracy and pushes only finished scores every 12h — content never leaves your walls.

Privacy Policy

We never store the text — most generic tools do

The biggest practical difference between SentiTrack and a raw sentiment API is what survives scoring. SentiTrack sends the body to your chosen model only to compute a 1–10 score, then discards it. Your database holds a number and non-content metadata — nothing to leak, subpoena or mishandle.

  • Zero message bodies, subject text or attachments retained
  • Only score + participants + timestamp + direction + subject hash stored
  • SentiTrack Edge keeps all content inside your own network
  • Hard-delete endpoint plus configurable retention (default 365 days)

SentiTrack vs generic sentiment tools — FAQ

What's the difference between SentiTrack and a generic sentiment analysis API?

A generic sentiment API scores one piece of text you send it and usually retains that text. SentiTrack is a full platform: it ingests email, voice and chat, scores each message 1–10 the way a manager reads tone, aggregates across your whole org, stores zero message bodies, and can run inside your own network.

Why not just call a sentiment API myself?

You can, but you'd then build everything around it — channel capture, quote stripping, secure storage, org aggregation, graphs and reports — and inherit the API's content-retention risk. SentiTrack ships that entire pipeline finished, scores tone on a workplace 1–10 scale, and never persists message bodies, subject text or attachments.

Is SentiTrack more privacy-friendly than a generic sentiment tool?

Yes. Most general-purpose sentiment services store the text you submit; SentiTrack scores the body in memory and discards it, keeping only the 1–10 score plus non-content metadata and a subject hash. It also offers a hard-delete endpoint, configurable retention (default 365 days) and a self-hosted Edge appliance.

Does SentiTrack score tone more accurately for business communication?

For workplace use, yes — it's tuned for it. Generic models read literal positivity and can flag a curt but professional "Approved." as negative. SentiTrack scores 1–10 on a manager's scale (hostile to warm) across 7 languages natively, using its bundled SentiAI engine or your own Claude, OpenAI or Gemini key.

Can I keep all data on-premises like I could with a self-hosted model?

Yes, with SentiTrack Edge — a Docker appliance you run inside your own network. It ingests and scores locally at roughly 93.5% of the hosted model's accuracy (approximate, not certified) and pushes only finished 1–10 scores and non-content metadata to your hosted account every 12 hours. Message content never leaves your network.

Is workplace sentiment tracking GDPR-compliant?

SentiTrack is built to minimize personal-data exposure by never persisting message content. Because storing sentiment alongside demographic attributes can be GDPR Article 9 special-category data, the lawful basis, any DPIA and employee consent remain the customer's responsibility under the Terms of Service, since the customer decides what is monitored and whom.
